In 2001, the mayor and city council of Columbus, MS. commissioned a TAXPAYER FUNDED audit & assessment of the Columbus police department, and copies of the results of that audit were delivered to the mayor, city council members, others in the city government, and selected press journalists.
I have scanned most of the final AUDIT & ASSESSMENT
of the COLUMBUS POLICE DEPARTMENT, and am choosing to make that content
available to my fellow taxpayers.
Before getting to the audit, there are a couple of notices:
Please note that NO optical scanning software is foolproof, and there might be some errors in the text translated from the page images. I am working to clean up the mistakes, and ask readers to be patient with my efforts. The last few pages of the audit deal with a step pay plan for the police department, and those pages use several graphics that will need to be converted by hand. As soon as those are finished, the last pages will be posted here.
On each page of the Audit, there is a "Back" and a "Next" link at the bottom of the page. This will take you back to the previous page, or forward to the next page. On pages 3, 4 & 5, the topics of sections of the audit are listed with the page numbers of each topic. You can go directly to that page or topic by clicking the page number for that topic. Please remember that these page numbers are only for the starting page of each section or attachment, and there are usually pages between these numbers (so use the "Next" and "Back" links to see all the pages of each section).
I welcome your comments and suggestions, and you can email ColumbusTalks by clicking here.
The Multimedia page is up, and has a few files available for download here.
